How the Relief Protab Reduced Everyday Aches in a 29-Day Study

Everyday aches add up. Stiff shoulders, a cranky lower back, knees that complain after a long day — all of it chips away at how you move and how you feel. Rather than simply saying Relief Protab works, we wanted to see how it performs in real life, day after day, for people managing ongoing physical discomfort.

That’s why we partnered with MoreBetter, an independent third-party research firm, to conduct a 29-day real-world observational study. We followed 427 adults with ongoing aches and pain as they went a week without Relief Protab, then three weeks using it — tracking changes in pain severity, how much pain interfered with their day, mood, energy, and overall well-being.

Deep dive:  the key findings

1. Fast, felt relief within hours

The cleanest result in the study came from a simple comparison: how participants rated their pain right before taking a Relief Protab, and again after, on that same day.

Average pain scores fell from 5.26 to 3.56 on a 0–10 scale — a 32% drop. Because this comparison happens within a single day, it isolates the effect of one use rather than reflecting a slower trend.

2. Pain interfered with the day far less

Pain doesn’t just hurt — it gets in the way.

On days without the product, the predicted probability of pain moderately to significantly interfering with participants’ day was 34%. On days they used Relief Protab, that fell to 22% — a statistically significant shift and one of the strongest signals in the study.

3. Better mood, more energy

Participants also reported a meaningful shift in how pain affected their outlook. The chance that pain had a negative impact on mood dropped from 18% to 9%.

Average mood, energy, and overall day ratings all improved as well, each moving in the 7–8% range in the expected positive direction.

4. Standardized measures back it up

Beyond day-to-day self-reports, the study used two validated research instruments. The PEG scale, which measures pain intensity and its interference with enjoyment of life and general activity, improved from 5.39 to 4.96. The Pain Outcomes Questionnaire, a standardized 19-item measure of pain severity and quality of life, improved from 64.08 to 58.76. Both changes were statistically significant.

Well-being, measured with the WHO-5 Well-Being Index, also improved significantly, rising from 46.41 to 50.16. That change was smaller and did not meet the threshold researchers consider a clinically meaningful shift, so we treat it as a modest, supporting signal rather than a headline result.

5. Fewer other pain-med days, at lower doses

The share of participants taking other pain medications didn’t change over the course of the study. But among those who did take something else for pain, reported doses were lower on the days they also used Relief Protab — a statistically significant pattern.

This reflects observed experience, not a substitution claim. Anyone considering changes to another medication should talk with their doctor first.

Because the study had no placebo control arm and current pain was the criterion for joining, some of the week-over-week improvement likely reflects regression to the mean — pain scores tend to drift down somewhat over any given week, even before a new product enters the picture. That’s part of why we lead with the same-day, before-and-after-each-dose result: a same-day comparison isn’t explained by that kind of drift.

As with any real-world study, results varied by individual. Relief Protab did not work the same way for everyone. Dose, consistency, and individual biology mattered, and some participants saw clearer benefits with consistent daily use than with as-needed use.

No. Pain and cannabinoid response vary by individual, and this study did not include a control group. Dose, consistency, and personal biology all played a role, and some participants noticed stronger effects in daily interference and mood than in raw pain intensity.

Did participants reduce other pain medications?

The share of participants taking other pain medications stayed about the same, but among those who did, reported doses were lower on the days they also used Relief Protab.
